Living Up My Dreams

Sky and Tree  ©A. Syammary - Nilem Photos 2012

There are lot of things that i enjoy, such as watching animated movies, drawing, and taking picture. I am currently a part time professional photographer on a company that my brother and I established. Because of enjoying photography, I want to become a full time pro photographer and also a professional graphic designer, aside from teaching on photography classes.

I'm still young, so I currently do not want to set my life path only on photography. I want to improve myself more in other field such as graphic designing, drawing, and painting, so I have more experiences for doing what my clients demand.
When i was a young boy, I never thought that i would chose jobs like a designer and photographer. Back then, I wanted to become a programmer and found myself struggling for School of Electronic Engineering and Informatics. But later on, I think that I was very bad at math and physics, so I reconsidered my choice. After I saw a very interesting and beautiful illustration from a Japanese illustrator, I chose to apply for Faculty of Visual Arts and Design, because then i realised that my passion was on graphic design and photography. And here i am, a freshman college student in Faculty of Visual Arts and Design.

When I'm 30 years old, i would like to have my company recognised. So if there are people who need our help in graphic designing and photography, they can contact us. Sometimes, I want to become a corespondent photographer on National Geographic.
I focus more on photography because it is my field that i really love and understand, and i was inspired from legendary photographers such as Robert Capa, Henri-Cartier Bresson, and  Alfred Eisenstaedt.

War Never Changes

War Never Changes

a poorly drawn Tiger tank

While the world is struggling for peace, war is still raging in some countries today. Afghanistan, Syria are some of the examples that people cannot fully living in peace. War becomes something that threaten humanities. Millions of people, most of which are innocent civilians, have deceased in the last world war.

Hate, Jealousy, Anger are the natures of human that can make a war raging. For example, the World War I was occurs in 1914-1918, started from assassination of Austrian's prince, Archduke Franz Ferdinand. It becomes a very great war when European countries fought each other. World War I was ended with Germany's defeat along with its Central Powers and Treaty of Versailles was signed in 1919.

Fueled by the Great Depression, Adolf Hitler rises up with his party, National Socialist German Worker Party or abbreviated "Nazi" in Germany. Hitler then started the World War II with invading Poland in September of 1939. Then the Japanese attack Pearl Harbor in 1941. In Indonesia itself the struggling for independency is a part of World War II.

World War II ended in 1945, it seems that no war is being fought in the following year but battle still occured within some countries. For example, Indonesian fought for defending independency, also, Vietnam struggled for its independency against France, and in 1951 Korean War took place.

On present days, Afghanistan war is still occurs. The Talibans are still fighting for Afghan's freedom while ISAF thinks that the Talibans is a kind of terrorists. Palestine was struggling for its independency they finally achieved in 2012. Syrian civil war is still raging until today.

So what's good about war? It teaches us to protect our own country from enemy forces that try to occupy our country, Independence countries mostly came from battles they fought in the past along with negotiations, and sometime peace is must be achieved with war,, just like Indonesia gain its independency through war and negotiations, Vietnam independency through war with France and USA, USA's independency through war with Britain.

So, there are 2 sides about war. It's not only about killing people without a reason, but also there are lot of reasons behind it and mostly political reasons that make a war happen. But we always wanted to war for ceased and we could live in peace forever.
